GINNIFER GOODWIN: “Once Upon a Time” is a Dream Come True

While speaking to the Boston Herald, Once Upon a Time’s Ginnifer Goodwin expressed her childhood dreams of being a Disney Princess, and reflected on the fact that she’s finally getting the chance to do exactly that with her portrayal of Snow White on the ABC series.
“It’s not that we’re re-inventing Snow White, but we are filling in the blanks for you,” she related. “She’s very fleshed out and very flawed, and in many ways I think the Disney animated Snow White could have been based on this woman. We’re showing you what a tough heroine she could have been.”
She also shared her enthusiasm about getting the opportunity to play both Snow White and Mary Margaret, the latter the Storybooke version of the character who doesn’t remember her previous existence.
“I prefer Snow White more,” Goodwin mused. “I see a lot more of myself in our version of Snow White, or at least Snow White is who I would like to be. Mary Margaret is more challenging, so in that way I get the best of both worlds every day because it’s the character I would like to be and the character that is more discombobulating to play.”
